Position Overview:

Work collaboratively with the UK sales and marketing team to support and promote our extensive range of instruments and reagents to research scientists across sectors including immunology, oncology, haematology and infectious diseases.

  • Maintain existing customer base and generate new business through face-to-face meetings, MS Teams calls, phone calls and email
  • Meet all monthly, quarterly and yearly sales targets outlined in the sales budget for research sales.
  • To undertake any training required for excellence in performing the job.
  • To meet all deadlines set by management including projects to generate sales leads, reporting sales data, sales forecasting and administration tasks including expenses.
  • To keep an up-to-date and regularly reviewed opportunities list within CRM, ensuring that all opportunities move through the pipeline as quickly as possible.
  • To ensure all customer records are correctly maintained on the CRM system (including contact details and appointment summaries).
  • To carry out detailed key account management and regularly present this to your line manager.
  • To prepare a territory plan in collaboration with the marketing team, to include account developing activities and keep this regularly updated throughout the year.
  • To attend territory mini exhibitions and sponsored events where possible and appropriate
  • To attend and help organise topic-specific seminars/workshops within your territory
  • To present territory prospects at sales meetings.

Background and experience:

  • You have a BSc, MSc or PhD degree in a Biology discipline, or a strong background in cell biology, stem cells, cancer biology, immunology, hematology OR related fields
  • Worked in immunology/cellular biology reagent sales for a minimum of 2-5 years. Experience with capital equipment sales is not essential.
  • Confident/professional/good relationship builder and to be recognised as a trusted scientific advisor.
  • Excellent presentation skills – both one-to-one and in front of larger audiences (from research students to senior scientists)
  • Strong commercial experience – demonstrates the ability to strategically plan account activities and accurately forecast sales.
  • Self-motivated and determined to drive sales within the territory.
  • Works well within a team and proactively engages internal stakeholders to meet territory objectives.
  • Good communication skills with a highly consultative sales approach
  • Must live within commutable distance Dublin/Galway/Belfast. Other locations considered but will need flexibility to travel.
