Our client is an oncology consultancy using mathematical models to support the development of cancer treatment regimens and personalised medicine solutions. They have has identified a need to increase its marketing and business development capabilities in order to meet its growth objectives. There is a real opportunity for the right individual to make a significant impact within a small organisation.
This is a new role with a global remit and reports to and supports the CEO to effectively help drive the company’s future commercial success. The role can be executed in the most part remotely with some visits to the HQ facilities in Oxford. The Head of Business Development and Marketing will have experience of identifying commercial opportunities in oncology drug discovery partnerships mostly with SMES but potentially with large pharmaceutical and biotech companies. The ability to acquire a sound understanding of the focus of the business is required for communicating the company’s unique services capability to potential clients.
The candidate will be an experienced, international business development and commercial development professional, with several years of experience and a track record of success of closing deals in external client-facing roles that have included Services Sales. Some Knowledge of Developing marketing implementation plans for prioritised actions including campaigns to raise awareness and attract new business is sought as is knowledge of social media marketing techniques. A good understanding of the challenges and processes for advanced oncology drug discovery would be advantageous. The successful candidate must have first-class communication ability, with the credibility and skills of persuasion that are required to present arguments in a diplomatic, clear, concise, and logical, and to influence others positively; including the ability to be effective in a virtual environment.
