Job Description

Our client is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company with headquarters in France; developing novel and highly differentiated antibacterial treatments for drug-resistant infections.

They have been working with Consulting support for their Clinical work to date and will continue to do so but they now wish to hire a full-time CMO to join their team.

The role holder will build the medical and clinical organization of the company and will be a strategic and collaborative partner with the CEO, other members of the executive team, and the Board of Directors.

The key will be to strategically develop and oversee collaboration efforts with partners, PIs, and KOLs, including developing partnerships with medical societies, building, and managing clinical advisory boards as well as representing clinical programs at appropriate conferences.

The individual will be the company’s medical expert, responsible for defining and executing the clinical plans for development compounds intended to efficiently obtain appropriately broad regulatory approvals in an efficient and medically rigorous manner. Providing direct medical/physician oversight for clinical trials, and clinician input into all of development. This individual will help drive the future strategic direction of the company, including meetings with members of the investment community, partnering, and business development opportunities.

The role holder will have as a core responsibility the medical oversight of all development programs, including assessment of risk/benefit and pharmacovigilance needs to guide development decision-making.

The role requires a qualified medic with expertise in the design and execution of clinical trials at all phases and to meet the regulatory requirements globally.  Expertise in anti-infectives is essential whilst additional experience in Respiratory infectious diseases is ideal but not essential.

As a small company, they need the role holder to be confident in being the sole internal medical expert. A proven leader, while functioning in a demanding, hands-on, and action-oriented environment with the ability to prioritize, and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
