Job Description

Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research is a Registered Charity that raises money to fund research into the diagnosis, new treatments for childhood cancer, and the support to those impacted by children’s cancer, their families, both during and after treatment.

As a Chair of the Board of Trustees, you will be able to contribute by Leading the Board of Trustees and assuring that the Charity is fulfilling its purpose.  Bringing your experience and ‘human’ skills you will guide and support the Operational Team and help to create a safe and protected environment for staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries.  The role holder will implement and adapt the strategic vision of the Charity and be the public figurehead in support of funding activities.  To complement the business skills of the Board they are looking for a candidate who can bring additional experience in Fund-raising ideally with a non-profit organisation; Fund-raising / grants for scientific research on an International basis and  Human Resources (HR) Management skills.

This is a voluntary position adapted to the demands of your professional career. Most of their Trustees have similar challenges and they adapt accordingly. The minimum commitment is to attend monthly Board meetings and updates, but ideally around a total of 15 days per year.
