Job Description

Our UK based client has been at the forefront of innovation for enhancing the measurement of trace-level volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds by gas chromatography. The role holder will be responsible for sustainably building and driving global sales growth for our clients’ new fully-automated GC sample introduction system. Harnessing the world’s leading GC automation platform and our clients’ unequalled expertise in cryogen-free focusing, the new platform offers an innovative combination of sorptive extraction, headspace-trap, thermal desorption and SPME all in one robust, automation platform that can be added to any major brand of GC/GCMS. Since launched earlier this year, market response has been overwhelming. The role holder will head up the growing dedicated Product Marketing and Product Management team, the role forms an important part of the company’s overall strategy for business growth.

Candidates will have a proven track record in selling or marketing sample handling products in gas chromatography or a related analytical instrument sector and have a degree or higher degree in a scientific and / or business discipline; alternatively they will have demonstrated a robust level of continual professional development within their career path. They will have a strong theoretical and practical knowledge of gas chromatography across a number of application areas, a good technical background in GCMS and its sampling techniques, direct hands-on experience of some of the common sample handling techniques for GC e.g. headspace; SPME; purge-and-trap and thermal desorption and have excellent management skills and a strong team mentality.
