Job Description

Associate Director CMC scientist required to play a key role in the building a young Cambridge based biotech company whilst contributing to the development of a new class of novel medicines.

We are seeking a driven, organised and proactive individual to lead the CMC and Process Development unit in the Preclinical Development team of our rapidly growing client. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic scientist, and future leader, to contribute to the development of innovative science and growth of the company. Key early deliverables will be managing the company’s contract development and manufacturing organisations (CDMOs) and performing process development and GMP manufacturing. The role also involves overseeing a small team performing in-house fermentation process development and contributing to the CMC components of regulatory documents.

Candidates are required to have good knowledge of the sector, prior track record of co-ordinating outsourced process development activities at contract development manufacturing organisations (CDMOs) and exemplary communication skills to thrive in a diverse, scientifically rewarding and successful business. In addition, we are longing for those with experience of cGMP requirements, industrial expertise in a bioprocess development environment utilising fermentation technology and a working knowledge of optimising manufacturing processes and methodologies.
