Job Description

Our client offers software and services for small molecule discovery and design.

They have a track record for producing outstanding cross-platform software tools for chemists working in a variety of industries where molecular design is key, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, agrochemicals, flavours & fragrances and consumer healthcare. Their principal focus is on the development of methods and applications for use in pharmaceutical drug discovery.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Computational or Medicinal Chemist to join a global and growing team of Application Scientists.

The role will work closely with customers, to understand the current problems in small molecule discovery across industries including pharmaceutical, agrochemical and flavour and demonstrate how applications can be used to solve issues and gather feedback on scientific and technical improvements that the business could implement. The incumbent will work cross-functionally with a team of developers who help to validate and apply cutting edge scientific methods. Working alongside the commercial team, the Application Scientists will communicate cutting-edge methods to customers, detailing their benefits and applicability in an honest and open manner.

Whilst this role is anticipated to be home-based from the UK, it will be a customer-facing role, providing scientific support to new and existing customers in the US.

The successful candidate will be expected to attend and present at international conferences and travel to customers across North America occasionally once the ease of restrictions are lifted and business travel resumes (up to 20%)

The ideal candidate will have a scientific background. A PhD/ BSc degree with a background in Computational or Medicinal Chemistry with computational skills ideally in the field of Drug Discovery or similar industry.
