Job Description

Our client is an an innovative molecular diagnostics start-up company based in Oxfordshire.  They require a self-motivated and resilient scientist with extensive experience and knowledge of molecular biology and real-time PCR to help developed both unique next generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation technologies and products based on these. The role holder will be working in a knowledgeable team for the development of highly sensitive and accurate oncology assays using cell-free DNA liquid biopsy.  The role requires a Ph.D., or, MSc with relevant experience, in an environment where molecular biology and ideally NGS technologies were heavily used.  A clear understanding of techniques based upon polymerase chain reaction (e.g. RT-PCR, qRTPCR) and experience designing and trouble-shooting these assays is essential. In addition hands on experience of NGS protocols, including library preparation and validation, understanding methods for, and analysing data generated from NGS experiments and an understanding of sequencing technologies and differences between current platforms would be most helpful.  Familiarity with ISO13485 Quality Management System and in vitro diagnostics regulations and experience in developing, designing, optimising, and validating RUO/IVD assays would be highly desirable.
