Job Description

Our client is a New Zealand based company who is the leading global OEM supplier of high quality, stable IVD Controls and Calibrators for diabetes and hemoglobinopathy assays. They are seeking 2 or 3 individuals to join the Science Governance Panel to bolster the science input at Governance level.

The role holders must have a solid science background with a PhD, a respectable list of publications (say >50) and be a recognised key international opinion leader. One will ideally be an expert in diabetes diagnostics with more than 20 years’ experience in the field of diagnostics, ideally including testing for diabetes. One will be an expert in in-vitro diagnostics i.e. not in diabetes with Senior experience in running Clinical Diagnostic services, or with strong NZ and Global standing (and connection to Biochemistry and/or Haematology) o >15 years’ experience in the diagnostic field (potentially outside New Zealand). One could also be a retired CSO of an in-vitro diagnostics company with a good understanding of the industry. Alternatively one could also be a respected University senior Scientist with a medical slant; Biochemistry, Haematology, (maybe Pathology, Oncology, Immunology?) with strong connections across University and Clinical research and developments. The role holders must be able to take the long view – both from science and relationships perspective and must have existing knowledge of scientists and entities that could provide opportunities. A deep connectivity to University and Medical Schools and Surrounding ecosystems is an advantage.

The role holders must be able to offer up to 20 hours per years and can be from anywhere location wise as they will cover meetings mostly via skype with potentially one trip a year to the actual company location
