Job Description

Our client is an international, independent materials technology company that applies its materials expertise in ceramics, metals and polymers to a range of sectors including healthcare, construction, ceramics, aerospace, nuclear and power generation. The role holder will lead the deployment, development and commercial success of a team of 16 sales and sales support personnel in the UK, Eire and USA, selling a high technology service offering. They will develop sector based sales plans in collaboration with the appropriate sector business managers (4 of) and the marketing communications and product managers (4 of).

They will oversee technical and commercial training, in the right order and intensity, to ensure these mainly young, inexperienced, but technically sound and ambitious team develop into a strong cohesive and knowledgeable sales force. Candidates to have a degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or a relevant science qualification, demonstrable sales success leading an international team in the science Industry, a minimum 3 years’ sales organization management experience selling a service in ‘Consultative Sales’ and proven experience in the effective recruitment, development, coaching and retention of staff.
