Job Description

Our client is successfully expanding into the bioprocessing market and is now seeking a sales person to focus on our Biotechnology portfolio in Europe, focusing particularly on Research and Development laboratories in both industry and academia.

We are Ideally seeking individuals already working in or with Bio research companies in a sales capacity but we will consider scientists with a knowledge of the applications and market looking to move into a commercial role.

The role holder will support the Sales Director to achieve annual sales targets by developing  strategies to maximise European miniature Bioreactor sales. This will require active development of new accounts through personal contacts and qualification of opportunities identified through web and related media. The role holder will maintain a sales action plan identifying current customers and new prospects with target sales value on a rolling quarterly basis. There will be a requirement to attend conferences and trade shows and maintain a professional network to stay aware of current industry trends and provide support to the marketing group to build the company brand in bioprocessing.

The role holder will have a degree in Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology or related area and will have experience in the Bioprocessing/Biotechnology industry, ideally with a proven track record of sales. Experience with technology associated with Bioprocessing applications, including bioreactors with sensing & control, microbial & mammalian cell culture systems  is required. The role holder should have experience of instrument and project related sales in the bioprocess industry and be capable of engaging from hands-on/demo level to formal presentation level with customer operators, managers and purchasers. The role holder must be able to work efficiently and independently to accomplish project objectives. The role requires travel overseas to support international accounts or for training, trade show or conference purposes.
