Bioinformatician – Next Generation Sequencing – R&D – Diagnostics – Ref.: JVM140218GF3
Our client is an an innovative molecular diagnostics start-up company based in Oxfordshire. Working along an interdisciplinary team with expertise in NGS and assay development, the goal is to bring to market cutting-edge assays using proprietary technologies for the sensitive detection of cancer biomarkers in liquid biopsy. The role requires a Ph.D. in Genomics, Bioinformatics or relevant Life Sciences field and a high level of motivation and passion to work developing novel NGS tools and pipelines. Proven programming and scripting experience (R, python, or other equivalent languages) is required. The role holder also requires expertise in developing novel NGS analysis workflows with a strong emphasis on data processing, analysis, and interpretation, specifically for RNA-Seq and DNA-Seq data sets and molecular barcoding. Excellent bioinformatics knowledge in developing algorithms and software tools to analyse NGS data is sought. In addition experience with or understanding of all aspects of NGS library preparation and understanding of quality control of NGS data sets to generate feedback for library preparation improvement would be most helpful.
